All-Rounded School?

School? What are the first thing you remember when you hear or see this word? Learning? Killer Teachers? Friends ? Fun Love lifes? 

For me it's boredom. 

Maybe many of you will ask why would i say that. Okay, don't get me wrong, i love learning honestly. As i said i am ranked 4 in my class and that beats around 22 other students in my class. 

But i feel like around 50% of the subject that i learned at school is unimportant. That's because in my country Indonesia, the students must learn almost all of the subject at school, and only split at the 2nd grade of highschool. It splits between science class and social science class. So i learned all of the subjects for 10 years straight. The reason i said 50% of it was unimportant is because the subject won't be any of use for me in the future. I applied in computer science program for college and can you imagine what's the use of for example Biology for the program? Will i need to calculate how many chromosome in a computer? Like really?

Okay i admit, the basics are absolutely needed but i think that's it. we only need the basic and we should start to specialize our learning to what we like and what we love to do. 

Well, maybe the government still continue this curriculum because even with this system many indonesian create and achieve things in academics and even have gone international. This proves that indonesian people has the potential to be great scholars, can you imagine if the curriculum get fixed and everyone can learn what they like? i think indonesian will be filled with geniuses, and it will be less boresome for me. 

Well honestly i get bored not only because of the subjects but the teachers too. I learned things the same way in 12 years of my learning days. Sitting behind a desk, memorize things , note things and etc. The teachers need to create some other way to teach which is more fun but still educative. It can start with something simple like quiz with reward or something at least it will be more interesting. Of course there are some teachers who have done that, one of them is my history class teacher back when i was in 2nd grade of Highschool. He didn't really do anything inventive i admit but the way he taught classes were so unique. It made me think i wasn't taking classes but hearing stories. He explained the materials with such a great intonation and i remember it faster and it didn't easily forgotten by me. 

That's my concern about why i think that school is boring. Well, it 'was' boring. Last year, when i get into the 3rd grade of highschool, i got appointed as the class rep, well i volunteered to be one. The reason i volunteered was because at the time i think i need some spices in my highschool life. Well i've got those spices, Too spicy tho. I didn't know being a class rep hold such a responsibility. The good thing is i think i became rather good in public speaking and honestly i think it is my passion lol. 

Luckily, my class is one of the best if not the best in our generation. We supported each other, when there were events or school projects we would gather and think of a plan together and get them done together. The class have become my second family. Well recently, there were arising problems but we solved them even though not completely, but they still are my joy and my happiness when i went to school which defeated the first 11 years of boredom in school.
